It’s been a year since Tricon was awarded Phase II of the major project renovations planned for Senior High School in Dubuque IA. Tricon was low bidder with a bid of $27.1 million which was under the projected cost of construction. Officials had initially estimated the costs at about $28.5 million.
The new improvements include the renovation of classroom, practice and storage space in the visual arts, music and theater departments; creation of new special education and physical education learning spaces; installation of air conditioning throughout the entire building; revamping the school auditorium; the addition of a new staircase and elevator; and construction of two major additions. The proposed three-year project would conclude in July 2024.
Construction is moving along while classes are in session. Tricon crews are getting geared up for a busy summer to take advantage of performing a lot of the work when summer break commences.
